Baros Maldives has been named Indian Ocean’s Leading Water Villa Resort 2026 at the World Travel Awards.
The award recognises the resort’s collection of overwater villas and its water villa experience, which combines private accommodation with direct access to the lagoon and nearby house reef.
Baros Maldives offers Water Villas with private decks and direct lagoon access, allowing guests to swim and snorkel from their villas. The resort also features Water Pool Villas, each measuring 126 square metres and offering a private pool overlooking the lagoon.
The resort’s house reef is located close to the Water Villas, giving guests access to coral gardens and marine life within a short distance of their accommodation.
“We are very pleased to receive this award,” said Ibrahim Faisal, Sales Manager at Baros Maldives.
“The water villas have always been an important part of the Baros experience and we are proud to see them recognised in such a competitive destination. The setting speaks for itself, but it is our team who bring the experience to life and make each stay memorable for our guests.”
The World Travel Awards recognise hotels, resorts and travel businesses across international tourism, with winners selected through votes from travel professionals and the public.
