Grand Park Kodhipparu has launched the Kodhipparu Club, a new private island membership concept the resort is positioning as the first of its kind in the Maldives. Announced on 30 April 2026, the club opens access to the resort's facilities, dining and curated events to Malé residents, expatriates, and regular visitors on a structured membership basis, without requiring an overnight stay.
The resort sits 20 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport, a proximity that makes it a practical option for Malé based members seeking regular weekend or after-work access to a resort island. Membership runs seasonally from May to September.
The club draws on a global shift toward lifestyle-led membership models that have gained momentum in cities like London, Dubai, and Singapore. Grand Park Kodhipparu is positioning the Kodhipparu Club as a social and wellness extension of the capital rather than a conventional day-trip offering. The concept targets professionals, creatives, and international residents who want regular island access woven into their routine rather than a one-off visit.
Members gain entry to the resort's beach, lagoon, and non-motorised watersports, along with dining privileges at FireDoor, the resort's signature overwater restaurant. The programme also includes access to spa and fitness facilities, live sports broadcasts, a calendar of social events and wellness sessions, and the option to bring guests. Membership is capped to keep the experience curated.
Raffaele Solferino, General Manager of Grand Park Kodhipparu, said the launch reflects how both visitors and the Malé community increasingly want to engage with the island. "This is about opening the island in a more meaningful way, creating a space where connection, wellbeing, and community come together," he said. "Hospitality today is no longer just about welcoming guests, but about building genuine connections between people, places, and communities."
Members will also be linked to Park Hotel Group's Park Rewards loyalty programme, giving benefits across the group's properties in Asia and the Maldives.
The move is notable for the wider resort industry. Most Maldivian resort islands operate on an overnight-stay or day-visit model. A structured, recurring membership offering treats the island as a lifestyle venue rather than a travel destination. Whether other resorts follow the model will likely depend on how demand from the local market holds over the five-month season.
For Malé residents and long-term expatriates looking for regular resort access without booking a stay, Kodhipparu Club opens a new option. Membership enquiries can be directed to rsvn.gpkd@parkhotelgroup.com.
