The Maldives is presenting its Visit Maldives Year 2027 campaign to international tourism professionals and media at World Travel Market (WTM) London, as part of efforts to strengthen global destination promotion and expand partnerships ahead of next year.
The exhibition, taking place from 3 to 5 November 2026 at ExCeL London, brings together tourism organisations, airlines, travel agents and hospitality businesses from across the world.
A 161-member delegation is representing the Maldives, including 136 participants from 62 companies. The delegation is participating in business meetings, promotional activities and discussions aimed at strengthening international tourism partnerships.
A key highlight of the Maldives' participation is the international presentation of Visit Maldives Year 2027, including a press conference outlining planned activities and opportunities for collaboration with overseas tourism partners.
Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen and representatives of Visit Maldives Corporation are scheduled to engage with international media and industry stakeholders during the event.
The programme also includes the introduction of the Visit Maldives Destination Guide 2027, showcasing accommodation, attractions and visitor experiences across the country.
Visit Maldives Year 2027, formally launched in October, will be promoted under the theme Islands Are Us. The campaign aims to broaden the international perception of the Maldives beyond its established luxury resort offering by highlighting local communities, culture, adventure, wellness and sustainable tourism.
The initiative will cover eight tourism segments: adventure, romance, family travel, culture, luxury, meetings and events, sustainability and wellness.
The Government has set a target of attracting 2.5 million tourists and recording 14.5 million bed nights in 2027, supported by expanded international marketing and efforts to improve air connectivity.
The Maldives has participated in WTM London since 1984, using the annual exhibition to maintain relationships with established tourism markets and develop new commercial opportunities.
This year's participation provides an international platform to introduce the 2027 campaign to travel trade partners and encourage wider industry involvement in the national tourism initiative.
