JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll wins three World Luxury Awards, including global honour

JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort has secured three accolades at the 2026 World Luxury Awards, including a global award recognising the property among luxury island resorts.

The resort received the Global Winner title for Best Luxury Island Resort, alongside Best Luxury Resort in the Indian Ocean and Best Architectural Design, recognising its hospitality offerings and architectural approach.

Located in Kaafu Atoll, approximately 15 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport, the resort features 80 private pool villas designed to incorporate elements of traditional Maldivian architecture.

Designed by architect Cüneyt Bükülmez, the property draws inspiration from Maldivian island homes, with thatched kajan roofs, turquoise doors and architectural details reflecting local craftsmanship. Its arrival jetty takes inspiration from the flight of the great grey heron.

Accommodation options include beachfront and overwater villas, as well as the three-bedroom Ocean Residence, which features a private slide, sauna, spa treatment room and gym.

The resort also offers seven dining outlets serving local and international cuisine, with ingredients from its JW Garden incorporated into selected menus.

Additional facilities include Spa by JW, a Kids Club and recreational activities ranging from diving and water sports to private destination dining experiences.

The 2026 World Luxury Awards recognise hospitality establishments across multiple categories, with distinctions awarded at country, regional, continental and global levels.

The three awards add to JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll's international recognition, highlighting its architectural design and luxury hospitality offerings within the Maldives' competitive resort sector.
