Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru marked Earth Hour with a series of activities focused on environmental education and marine conservation.
The programme included a visit from students of Ahmadhiyya School in Malé, who participated in educational sessions on sustainability and resort operations. Activities at the Marine Lab included a coral micro-fragmentation session aimed at supporting reef restoration efforts.
Students were introduced to the challenges facing coral ecosystems and actively contributed to planting coral fragments in nursery tanks.
The evening featured a symbolic Earth Hour observance, with lights switched off across the resort and a beach gathering highlighting environmental awareness.
The initiative reflects the resort’s broader sustainability strategy, which integrates conservation, education and community engagement into its operations.
